Notes:
The Eagles didn't have a great
2006 as measured by the PossessionPoints stat. However, they finished
stronger than how they started the season having 4 of their 6 Green
offensive performances in the final 6 games of the regular season.
Perhaps this was due to the switch to Garcia at QB after McNabb's
injury, or perhaps it was a change in coaching styles. It
is hard to say. There is another factor in the Eagles chart that is
of interest. As we have pointed out in other places on our site,
only in 7 of the 256 games in 2006 did a team have all 3 indicators red
and win (the other team would be all 3 green and lose). The Eagles
were on the winning side of these anomalies 3 times.
Looking forward to 2007, the Eagles no
longer have Garcia but now have two QBs to back up McNabb, a
veteran, AJ Feeley, and their number 1 draft choice, Kevin Kolb. If the offensive execution
matches the latter half of 2006, then 2007 could be a very good year
for the Eagles.
