Notes:
The Giants had a fairly good
2006 as measured by the PossessionPoints stat. With a regular season
average of 97.7 PossessionPoints per game, they just missed a green
indicator for the season. Overall the finished a very respectable
11th out of 32 teams. They started stronger than they finished and
in spite of a positive "green" zone performance, they lost their only
playoff game to the Eagles 23-20. The Eagles also reached the
"green" offensive indicator as shown by the "red" 117 in the
Defensive Zone graphic of the Giants.
Looking forward to 2007 the Giants don't need to improve much to get
into the season long "green" indicator average. However, with the
retirement of Tiki Barber they have lost a strong runner who helped
both time of possession and points scored, two of the key components
of PossessionPoints. It will be interesting to watch the first few
2007 PossessionPoints performances to see how the Giants will fair
in 2007.
