Notes: The
Steelers were another of the very few teams to make the "green"
PossessionPoints indicator zone and miss the playoffs. They managed
just an 8-8 record which was not good enough to make the playoffs in
the AFC. The Steelers were an up and down team this year earning
both their wins and loses. They had no games which were anomalous to
any of our 90% indicators. There "good" performances were enough to
bring their overall average to the green zone. They ranked 6 out of
the 32 teams which would indicate that their offense is strong
relative to their peers.
Looking forward to 2007 the Steelers need consistency on the
Offensive side of the ball, and improvement on the defensive side of
the ball. They addressed "defensive" needs in the draft this year
picking defensive players and a punter with 4 of their first 5
picks. From a PossessionPoints viewpoint
this draft is probably the direction we would say the indicators
would point them.
