Notes: The
Houston Texans were in the bottom half of the NFL ranking 20 out of
32 teams. Their overall PossessionPoint average of 83.38 left them
just over 16 points shy of the "green" zone. Their record of 6-10,
missing the playoffs was in line with their PossessionPoints
performance.
Looking forward to 2007 the Texans traded away David Carr, their
starting quarterback to the Panthers. It appears they will be
turning the signal calling over to Matt Schaub who they
acquired from the Falcons. Schaub, a 4-year veteran, has been a
backup to in Atlanta, and it is yet to be seen if he is an upgrade
over Carr. PossessionPoints would have looked to upgrade the offense
but the Texans seemed to concentrate on defense, taking defensive
players with 3 of their top 4 draft picks. While we will watch their
PossessionPoints performance closely at the start of 2007, we
wouldn't forecast them as a playoff team preseason.
