Notes: A disappointing season for the Vikings,
their PossessionPoints average of 72.09 put them 26 out of 32 teams
in the NFL. Their 6-10 record is about what you would expect. It is
however interesting to note that the Vikings did turn in 5 "all
green" performances. They wound up on the wrong side of the 90%
effect in two of these games, beating the odds by losing.
Looking forward to 2007, the Vikings needed to address both offense
and defense. The offense should be helped by their number 1 draft
pick, Adrian Peterson. A top running back can make a significant
contribution to a team's PossessionPoints. Just as the retirement of
Tiki Barber will be difficult for the Giants to replace, getting a
running back of this caliber can really enhance the Vikings offense.
Do they get back to the playoffs? Only time will tell, as with
several other teams we will be watching the Vikings closely.
