Notes: We want to take just a second to thank the Saints for their role in the founding of PossessionPoints. Their playoff game with the Eagles has been documented in other places as the inspiration behind the development of the PossessionPoint indicators. Take a quick look at the "green","green","yellow" indicators above and decide for yourself if it was likely that the Eagles would get the ball back after a punt. We all know they didn't. Would the Eagles have converted 4th and 15, who knows?

Meanwhile, looking at the Saints PossessionPoints chart of 2006 we have to say Shawn Peyton did an excellent job. Their "green" offenisve effect for a season total of 111.5 put them 4th out of 32 teams in the NFL in PossessionPoints.

Looking forward to 200,7 the Saints need to keep it up on the offensive side of the ball. If they improve their defense slightly (particularly in the playoffs) they could well be the NFC team in the Super Bowl.  The Saints, with their draft picks, looks like they want to leave all the other teams in the metaphoric offensive dust  Can anyone say Colts?
