Featured Game Week 11 - New York Giants At Philadelphia Eagles

Philadelphia comes into this game as the hottest team in football. The question is can the Giants come up with a game plan to stop Michael Vick. The way Vick is playing it seems nobody can stop him. We will see tonight, the winner of this takes control of the division.

So far the Giants have appeared to be better able to contain Vick than the Redskins last week. However the Giants offense has not been able to do anything the first 2 times they got the ball. The second time the Eagles got the ball they went on a 7 minute touchdown drive, that gave them 50 big PossessionPoints to start.

Eagles 7 50.1 50.1 0.0 2:16
The Giants had a long time consuming drive of their own, it ended in a field goal but still totaled 32 PossessionPoints. The way this game is going it looks like a big mistake or two could determine who wins this game.

Giants 3 32.4 -17.7 50.1 2Q
Eagles 7 50.1 17.7 32.4 9:10
The Giants were the first to make a mistake, they fumbled the ball on their own 20. The Giant defense did force the Eagles to go 3 and out, but the out was a field goal. So the Eagles tack on a few more PossessionPoints with their 1 minute 18 second "drive".

Eagles 10 55.3 22.9 32.4 5:37
Well, the Giants made the second mistake of the game with an interception deep in their own territory. The Giants have to consider themselves lucky to only be down 10 points.

A lot of times having drives end in field goals is a bad thing. But when you are chewing up 7 and 8 minutes like the Eagles are tonight it isn't all bad as PossessionPoints now indicates. The Eagles now have a green 103 even though most of their scoring drives have been field goal drives.

Eagles 16 103.1 70.7 32.4 6:38
Well, the Giant offense finally go on track, with the help of a big 31 yard pass interference call. It was a no doubt call so it isn't like the TD was undeserved. They took 6 minutes to score and now have 88 PossessionPoints. This is an interesting game now.

Eagles 16 103.1 15.1 88.1 0:27
We said a few frames earlier that mistakes might be the difference in the game and the Giants then went on to make two of them. Well the Eagles just made one, Vick was sacked and fumbled for his first turnover of the season. The Giants took 40 seconds to convert that to a go ahead TD. This is by no means over because the Eagles have dominated this game so far.

Eagles 16 103.1 8.4 94.7 13:35
Game of inches, the Giants jump offsides on a 3rd and 6, the Eagles go on 4th and one, bobble the snap, make a pitch to McCoy and he runs 50 yards for the go ahead TD.

Well, Vick was nowhere near as dominant as he was against the Redskins but the Giants made too many mistakes to win. The Eagles ended with a score that matched their overall dominance in this game.
